BTP over! Yo!

Today I finally got over with my BTP . The chain of events from past two days leading to this historic moment could easily serve as a plot for a thriller (:P). Just wanted to thank some of the people for their support - Dad, Mom, Sis, Sid, Calee, Heman, KT, Jits and Manjul.

Why are Authorities usually morons?

I guess you already know by now that I am a student at the IIT Kharagpur. After the scandlous event at IIT Kharagpur, the authorities decided that the best way to handle such situations was to implement proxy servers. I frankly do not know how feasible and good (I am not getting a better word here) that solution has been. The only result I have seen so far is lots of troubling messages that I get when I wish to visit a harmless (frankly, from my perspective like codeproject or blogger ) site. I do not expect anything more from the authorities' side; they did the best they could do (I know they are morons, for a fact). I am just complaining or more crudely said, I am just bitching.

Best way to learn something new

I have been asked numerous times to suggest some good books for Java, PHP , Sql , C# and what not. I have always had the same suggestion - examples from existing codes or online tutorials. I prefer books as reference materials and not as learning guides. Whenever you need to learn anything, do it by following examples from codes written by others and try to modify them. Online tutorials are also very helpful in this respect. I have learned all the languages this way. I do keep books though; however, they are for reference purpose only. If I am stuck at a particular terminology (though Google would be my first choice), I sometimes seek help from the books that I have at my disposal. Hope this style of learning helps you too.

Long time no see!

I have been away for a long long time...spending my time in lots of activities. Of course, none of them were blogging :P I am as irregular in maintaining this blog as I am with my personal diary. (I guess that was expected) I, however, feel this is going to change and I shall be blogging quite frequently from now on. No reason, JLT . Currently, I am involved in my BTP which deals with ANN , a website development for a client, and lots of personal projects like KCL Website ( PHP ), a LAN messenger (C#), an installer interface ( NSIS & C#).
