I am an Associate Software Developer at CA, India

OK, I know it's quite late for this information to be published. But then, you know me; don't you? Well, I have been selected for the post of Associate Software Developer by Computer Associates, India. The whole TnP experience has been quite nice and I loved the tests that I took for Yahoo!, Sun Microsystems, Viveo, and, of course, CA.

I fared well, I think, in all the aforementioned tests; though never made to the short-list for any one of them but CA.

Here goes the Interview Experience I had with CA, India.

I came to know about getting short-listed at around 1:30 pm; the interview was scheduled at 5:30 pm.

Relaxed a little bit and then asked Lola (a Kgp senior working at CA) for some tips. He suggested that I should be sincere in my answers and "show interest in the Company". I thank Lola for these tips; because I sincerely followed them.

At the scheduled time, I was in my formals and ready to face the challenge.

I was asked to wait for sometime; I used that interval for brushing up some C/C++ concepts with Anshul Singhal, a friend who also got selected in CA.

My first interviewer was Mr. Piyush Priyadarshi. It turns out during the course of the interview that Piyush is also from Jam and did his coaching for IIT from Prerna Classes. But, so did I! Rest of the interview was pure fun and slightly nostalgic. At the end of the interview, I thanked Piyush for the wonderful time and the gentle "interview".

After some time, which I utilised in catching a smoke, I was scheduled for the next interview. It turns out that one of my Kgp senior would be interviewing me. Mr. Alok Ojha, a famous musician from Kgp and also a good senior, recognized me in the first go! We chatted about Kgp and the interview was over!

Finally, I was asked to wait for my last round of interview. I am real sorry that I have forgotten the gentleman's name who interviewed me. But this interviewer and I had a common hobby, reading! We chatted about novels and he asked me the last novel that I had read. I told him that I recently re-read "To Kill a Mocking Bird" by Harper Lee. We discussed the book a little. He, then, asked me to ask anything that I had on my mind. I asked him the most obvious question, "How is the recent mortgage crisis going to affect a US-based company, CA?". He explained in detail how CA would be affected negligibly, if at all. That's it! This interview too came to an end; happy end, if I may say so.

I was then asked to talk to Mr. Sanjay Talari, an HR representative from CA, for some formalities. Sanjay, it turns out, is a very helpful person and wanted to know if my plans to join the Company are real. I assured him that I have known CA for a long time. I also mentioned about a senior, Lola, working in CA. Finally, he congratulated me for getting selected and I knew that I would be joining one of the best companies in the world!

P.S.: The gentleman who interviewed me in the final round was Mr. Manmohan Jain.
